Worship Ministry Opportunities

Episcopalian Church ServiceAcolytes serve at the altar each Sunday. Boys and girls ages ten and older, as well as adults, are welcome to become part of the Acolyte Program. Meetings are held four times a year plus special training sessions.

Altar Guild.  This diverse group is organized to serve God by preparing and tending our sanctuary for worship. They set up for Holy Communion and take care of all the vessels, hangings and linens Involved In our worship.

Chalicists.  Our chalicists are trained by the Clergy and licensed by the Bishop of the Diocese to administer the chalice at Holy Eucharist.

Choir.  The Chancel Choir at Grace sings at the 10:30 service and practices weekly. 

Flower Guild.  This group prepares the floral arrangements for the beautification of the sanctuary and the church.

Greeters.  These weekly volunteers are the smiling faces who greet worshipers, answer questions, find name tags and offer Grace hospitality to visitors.

Healing Prayer Ministry.  These are parishioners trained to pray for others during communion time at the 10:30 a.m. service and at our monthly Taizé service.

Lectors, Intercessors.  These people read the lessons, lead the Prayers of the People, respectively. It is often an opportunity for entire families to participate in our worship.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors.  Lay Eucharistic Ministers are trained by the Clergy and licensed by the Bishop of the Diocese to lead services and to administer the chalice.

Ushers.  This group of persons volunteer to assist in seating the congregation, receiving the offering and greeting newcomers. It is often done by family groups.
